Options for Windows XP users

Microsoft announced that it will stop supporting Windows XP. Users will be able to continue but no new updates will be available making XP become more unsecure. Windows XP had a good run for more than a decade. Now it is time for XP users to upgrade to something else. What could that be?

If you don’t want to pay for an expensive upgrade, you can still use XP for basic functions. But it may make sense to upgrade to less expensive Windows 7. It is not the latest Windows upgrade and that belongs to Windows 8. Windows 7 is the most widely used version of Windows and it still has support guaranteed until January 14, 2020. Your favorite store may not carry it anymore and old PC users may have to get it online. If you still have lots of applications running on XP, converting to Windows 7 may be your best option at this time without spending too much money.

All new PCs come with Windows 8 already loaded. It may be difficult for some old PC users without touch screens to use Windows 8. Many stores sell Windows 8 and it is easier to find.
